Relationship Counselling
“Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow.” Swedish Proverb
Everyone wants healthy, satisfying, mutually generous and regenerating relationships. Good relationships lift the spirit, soothe the soul, provide a sympathetic ear and have a bearing on ones overall happiness. Trustworthiness, honesty, caring, sacrifice, tolerance, understanding and even hard work are essential to developing and maintaining relationships.
With loved ones it is essential to show appreciation and affection. Avoid taking the relationship for granted. Provide for quality time and emotional support. Treat with mutual respect and dignity. Treasure and accept them for what they are, different but equal. A healthy relationship isn’t just about how two people treat each other – it also has to be enjoyable. In a healthy relationship, you feel energized and alive in your partner’s presence. You can play and laugh together. You have fun.
Even at work, excellent relationships can make the difference between getting ahead or losing one’s job. Managers tend to hold on to the ones they can relate to, colleagues help those who they have connected with, other employees gravitate towards those with the human touch, interviewers hire those they like and can work with.
Simply follow the Golden Rule : “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
